Somewhat reluctantly the Air Ministry

agree as regards the restriction on Pilots.

I cannot see much force in their arguments.

Any local disturbance in Hong Kong, such as they

fear, is almost certain to mean a conflict between

British and Chinese, and it would therefore have

been natural for them to have attempted to

exclude Chinese Pilots, but these they are in any

case prepared to accept. The distinction they

draw between the Hong Kong and Singapore Aerodromes

is also somewhat weak. It may be therefore, that

for the moment there is a service unit stationed
